solifidian (n.)

"one who believes in justification by faith alone without reference to works" (based on Romans iii.28), 1590s, a coinage of the Reformation, from Latin solus "alone" (see sole (adj.)) + fides "faith" (see faith (n.)). As an adjective from c. 1600. Related: Solifidianism.
